Pre-Kindergarten Admissions for the 2012/2013 school year
Children born in 2008 who reside in New York City are eligible to participate in U. P. K programs that are offered by the New York City Department of Education in the 2012 - 2013 school year.
Applications Period
March 5th-April 5th - Late applications will not be processed.
How to Apply
There are two ways to complete the Pre-Kindergarten applications:
1. Online at www.nyc.gov/schools/prek.
2. In person at an Enrollment Office.

As you apply, keep in mind....
- There is no guarantee of a placement in a pre-kindergarten program.
- Students are admitted to the NYC DOE public school UPK programs in accordance with the DOE admission priorities guidelines.
- If there are more students applying than there are available seats with a priority group, there will be a random assignment process for the available seats.
- Placement in a pre-kindergarten program in a school does not provide priority for a kindergarten placement for the following school year.

CELL PHONE POLICY
Chancellor’s Regulation A 412 Section V clearly prohibits any electronic communication device in school. Additionally, Citywide Standards of Discipline infraction B05 indicates that it is prohibited to bring in equipment or material to school without authorization. (E.g. cell phone, beeper or other electronic communication)
The following cell phone policy is currently in effect and will remain so until further notice.
• Cell phones may not be on in school.
• Students are not permitted to have a cell phone in the cafeteria during breakfast or lunch.
• Students are not permitted to view the time, look at pictures, take pictures, or view any information on a web browser that is on a cell phone or other electronic device.
• Students are not permitted to listen to music on a cell phone or other electronic device.
• Students are not permitted to send or receive text messages.
In the event that a student is caught with a cell phone, any and all cell phones or electronic devices will be confiscated, identified to the owner, and placed in the school safe.
Confiscated cell phones may be picked up by a parent or guardian on Friday mornings at 9:00 am only. No exceptions.
